How I found my way to The Body Landscape

I'm Ebony, and I didn't find Craniosacral Therapy because I was looking for a career. I found it because I was looking for another way to listen to my own body.

A few years ago, I was experiencing debilitating toothaches and jaw pain. After months of different opinions and answers that didn't quite feel right, I found myself looking for a different way of understanding what was happening in my body.

It started with a question.

That's when I found a local cranial osteopath.

After my first treatment, I was pain-free for the first time in months.

What struck me most was how subtle the treatment had been. There was no force, no intraoral work, and very little that I could consciously perceive happening. It felt almost energetic, and yet something had clearly shifted physically.

I was floored. But more than anything, I was curious. I needed to understand what had happened.

That curiosity led me to search for a way to study Craniosacral Therapy myself. I found a course with a teacher who resonated with me and, without even speaking to her first, booked the introductory training, about eight months before the course was due to begin.

There wasn't really any hesitation. My body gave me a very clear “hell yes”, and I trusted it.

What began as a search for answers became a much deeper journey into the body, presence, rest, and the art of listening.

A journey of curiosity

I've always been curious about what sits beneath the surface — of the body, of our experiences, and of the way we move through life.

My own journey into this space began long before I discovered Craniosacral Therapy. Over the years, I've explored Reiki, yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic massage and Shamanic traditions, alongside a deeper personal journey of growth, self-awareness and learning.

Each of these experiences offered me something different. Some helped me understand the body. Some taught me about presence, stillness and connection. Others opened up a different way of understanding self and the world around us.

For a long time, these parts of my life felt like separate threads.

Craniosacral Therapy was where they began to come together.

It gave me a way to explore the body with greater depth and curiosity, grounded in anatomy and physiology, while still leaving space for the things that cannot always be understood through the mind alone.

It felt like a meeting point between the physical and the subtle, between knowledge and intuition, between understanding and simply listening.

And perhaps that's what drew me to it so deeply.

It didn't ask me to choose between the different ways I had learned to understand the world. It gave them somewhere to meet.

Your body doesn't need you to have all the answers

It simply needs a little space to be heard.
